Deadline reports that Machete Kills, a sequel to the 2010 grindhouse-style movie Machete, is slated to begin shooting in April. Robert Rodriguez is returning to the director’s chair, with Danny Trejo expected to reprise the lead role.
This time around, the machete-wielding antihero will head to Mexico to slice up a few drug cartels, and audiences can expect more action and mayhem than ever before.
Machete Kills will carve up theatres next year.
