Speaking with Empire Online, producer Jon Landau speculated that the first of two planned sequels to Avatar will most likely not pop off theatre screens in 2014 as originally planned. There’s still no firm date, and this isn’t the first time that Landau has made claims about the film’s release window and then backtracked.
Avatar 2 (and 3) will continue the story of the Na’vi resistance against humans, and James Cameron has previously stated the films will take audiences to the oceans of Pandora for the first time. WETA Digital has already started work on the projects, and you can expect Cameron to push 3D technology to even further this time around.
If you just can’t wait for more eye-popping action from James Cameron, a 3D version of Titanic is now in theatres.
