Scottish comedian and Boondock Saints co-star Billy Connolly has joined the cast of the two Hobbit movies. He’ll play the Dwarf King Dain Ironfoot, who aids the main characters in their epic quest. Director Peter Jackson says that this is the final piece of casting news from the project, which makes sense given that it began shooting months ago, and the first trailer has already been released.
The first of the two films, titled The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, will hobble into theatres on December 14, 2012. The second, titled The Hobbit: There and Back Again, completes the journey a year later on December 13, 2013.
