Chinese gaming giant Tencent has announced that it’s partnering with Activision for Call of Duty Online, the first free-to-play entry of the series. The game takes place in a modern setting, and appears to offer characters and environments aimed specifically at Chinese gamers. So far, it’s only been confirmed for release in China on the PC, but we’ll let you know if it finds its way to North America.
Don’t forget that the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will deploy everywhere this holiday season. It takes place a few decades in the future.
Tencent is the same Chinese publisher behind Crytek’s free-to-play shooter Warface, which will deploy in North America later this year.
