God of War Movie Grabs Saw Writers
It looks like the long-in-development God of War movie is going to be just as violent and bloody as the games, because according to The Hollywood Reporter, Saw 4, 5, 6, and 7 screenwriters Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan are crafting the script. Like the games, the story will focus on the Spartan warrior Kratos as he seeks bloody revenge against the ancient Greek gods. The film was first announced several years ago, and there’s still no word on when shooting will begin, or when audiences can expect to see it in theatres.
Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan also wrote the script for Guillermo del Toro’s giant robots vs. giant monsters movie Pacific Rim, due out next summer.
The next game in the franchise, God of War: Ascension, will slice up the PS3 in March 2013. Click here to watch out interview with lead game designer Mark Simon.
Kratos will also appear in the crossover fighting game PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, which hits the PS3 and Vita this October.
