With director Ridley Scott developing a sequel to his classic sci-fi movie Blade Runner, there have been many back and forth rumours that Harrison Ford might, or might not, reprise his role. Now, speaking with British newspaper The Independent, Ridley Scott himself has revealed that he doesn’t think Ford will have a starring role, but adds that he hopes to include him somewhere in the film. This could mean that Ford’s character Deckard will appear in a cameo, but keep in mind that nothing is finalized.
The new Blade Runner movie is currently being written by the original film’s screenwriter Hampton Fancher, and will take place after the events of the first movie. There’s no word yet on when shooting might begin, so don’t expect to see it in theatres anytime soon.
Ridley Scott is revisiting another of his sci-fi masterpieces with the Alien prequel Prometheus, which will land on June 8. Click here to watch a behind the scenes story.
