With The Avengers smashing box office records across the globe, Marvel and game maker Ubisoft have announced a new, motion-controlled project, Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth. It’s being handled by Ubisoft’s Quebec City studio, and is in development for Kinect on the Xbox 360, and Nintendo’s upcoming console, the Wii U.

The storyline of the new game is inspired by Marvel’s popular Secret Invasion comic series, where The Avengers must save Earth from a deadly alien invasion. If that sounds familiar, it’s because the books also inspired the blockbuster Avengers movie. Players will get to take control of twenty different Marvel heroes, including Iron Man and Thor, and then go up against the worst villains.

Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth will land on the Xbox 360 and Wii U before the end of the year.
