Nintendo has announced the Nintendo Network, a new online gaming service similar to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
It will be compatible with the handheld 3DS and the upcoming Wii U, and allow users to set up multiplayer matches, communicate with other players, and download new games and DLC from Nintendo and third-party developers. Each user will be able to set up their own personal account, and customize their online experience.
Sound familiar? It’s basically Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network, but from Nintendo. It’ll begin rolling out soon on the 3DS, and will be available for the Wii U when the console hits stores before the end of the year.
