Deadline reports that Roland Emmerich, the director behind Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow, is in talks to helm a new action movie titled White House Down. The film will focus on a terrorist takeover of the White House, and, like Emmerich’s previous films, expect to see the executive mansion completely destroyed.
The screenplay for White House Down was penned by James Vanderbilt, the writer behind The Amazing Spider-Man and the upcoming remake of Total Recall.
