A big screen movie based on the DC Comics villain Lobo is in the works, with Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton set to helm. Now, Journey 2 star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is rumoured to be in talks for the lead role, but there’s still no official word on the news.
Lobo is an insane, ultra-violent motorcyclist from a distant planet, who possesses incredible strength and rapid healing abilities. He’s one of the more outrageous DC characters, so don’t be surprised if things get toned down a little for the film. The last two DC movies that abandoned realism, Jonah Hex and Green Lantern, did poorly at the box office, while the realistic Dark Knight series is a massive success.
