Wait an Extra Week for The Bourne Legacy

The Jason Bourne-less Bourne movie known as The Bourne Legacy has been delayed by a week. Originally set to arrive on August 3, it will now hit theatres on August 10. No reason has been given for the push, but many are speculating that it’s to put more space between the film and this summer’s toughest competition, The Dark Knight Rises, which will crowd theatres a few weeks earlier on July 20.

Since Jason Bourne does not appear in The Bourne Legacy, Matt Damon will be absent. Audiences will instead get a deadly new agent played by Hawkeye himself Jeremy Renner, along with returning actors Joan Allen, Albert Finney, Scott Glenn, and David Strathairn. Franchise newcomers Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton also join the cast.
