A remake of the original Evil Dead film is in the works, and hero Ash may be getting a sex change.
Bloody Disgusting reports that the main character, played by cult icon Bruce Campbell in the original, will be portrayed by a woman this time around. The part may go to actress Lily Collins, who appeared in the action movies Priest and Abduction, and will next star as Snow White in Mirror Mirror.
The evil remake is being produced by Bruce Campbell and the original film’s director Sam Raimi. Shooting begins soon.
