Chronicle Director to Helm The Red Star

It looks like Chronicle director Josh Trank has added yet another new comic book movie to his slate. Deadline reports that he’s set to direct a big screen adaptation of The Red Star, a sci-fi/fantasy series that takes place in a futuristic version of the Soviet Union. The books were created by Christian Gossett, an artist who worked on the Star Wars prequel movies.

The Red Star comics also served as the basis for a video game that was released on the PS2 back in 2007.

Josh Trank is also attached to helm a big screen reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise, along with a Venom spin-off movie, focusing on the gooey Spider-Man villain. A Chronicle sequel is also rumoured to be in the works.
