UPDATE: Deadline reports that Harrison Ford is not in talks to appear in the new film, although the producers say that there’s a small chance that his character may be back.
Twitch Film reports that the old Blade Runner himself, Harrison Ford, is in early talks to reprise his role in the sequel to the science-fiction classic. There’s no word on how much time will have passed between the events of the two movies, but Ford is obviously thirty years older in real life. It remains to be seen if he’ll officially sign on.
The Blade Runner sequel was first revealed last year, with original director Ridley Scott once again in charge. The project is still in the very early stages of development, so it’ll be at least a few years before it hits theatres, if it gets a green light.
Ridley Scott is revisiting another one of his classic sci-fi films with the Alien prequel Prometheus. It’ll hit Earth on June 8.
