A sequel to last year’s infectious thriller Contagion is rumoured to be on the way. Bloody Disgusting and multiple other sources report that Warner Bros. is currently looking for a screenwriter to pen the follow up, with original writer Scott Z. Burns serving as producer this time around. There’s no word if director Steven Soderbergh will be back.
Contagion 2, if it’s the real deal, is still in the very early stages of development, so don’t expect it to contaminate theatres anytime soon. Soderbergh is currently working on a new thriller about the pharmaceutical industry, titled Side Effects, due out next year.
