Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is working on a sequel to Will Smith’s 2007 post-apocalyptic action movie I Am Legend. Smith will reprise his role as the last man on Earth, who battles mutated monsters in the streets of New York City. The screenplay is in the early stages of development.
It remains to be seen how the writers will bring back Smith’s character, given the previous film’s ending. We’d also like to see the dog somehow return from the dead.
Will Smith will next appear in Men In Black III, which hits Earth on May 25.
