The epic film Lawrence of Arabia is returning to theatres for a limited run on October 4. It will be a newly-restored version of the extended director’s cut, remastered in 4K resolution from the original camera negatives. It’s almost four hours long, so don’t drink too much soda before the show.
Lawrence of Arabia is considered one of the most influential films in cinema history. It tells the true story of T.E. Lawrence, a British army officer who led an Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire during the first world war. It won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1962, along with Best Director for David Lean.
If you can’t find a screening near you, Lawrence of Arabia will make it’s Blu-ray debut on November 13. It’ll be available in a 3-disc box set complete with an art book and loads of behind the scenes content.
