Warner has announced that TT Games are working on a LEGO adaptation of Lord of the Rings, confirming previous rumors.

The game will be available this Fall for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS, 3DS and Vita. Based on the movie trilogy the game, ”will take players along on the adventures of Frodo Baggins and his unlikely fellowship as they set out on a perilous journey to destroy The One Ring and save Middle-earth.”

“We are huge aficionados of The Lord of the Rings franchise and are incredibly excited to put our special LEGO family-friendly touch on this classic fantasy adventure,” said TT Games managing director Tom Stone. ”We’ve taken what fans are familiar with and love about The Lord of the Rings films and combined it with the playful LEGO style, which makes the story and gameplay accessible to gamers of all ages.”

Playable characters include Frodo, Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, Sam, Merry and Pippin.
