Last year, Ally McBeal creator David E. Kelley tried to get a new Wonder Woman TV series off the ground. That project failed, but now, Vulture reports that The CW is working on its own show about the DC Comics heroine. It carries the working title Amazon, and will explore her origins.
Don’t hold your breath for the new Wonder Woman TV series. It’s currently in the early stages of development, and there’s no word if it will actually get a green light. Grey’s Anatomy executive producer Allan Heinberg is developing the script.
The CW has already had major success with the DC Comics universe. The Superman origin series Smallville ran for 10 seasons, and the network is about to premiere its new show Arrow, based on the sharp-shooter Green Arrow.
Over on the big screen, CW’s parent Warner Bros. is working on a live-action Justice League movie, which will feature all the best DC characters, similar to Marvel’s blockbuster The Avengers.
