UPDATE: It now appears that the extra footage will be available separately on the Blu-ray as deleted scenes, and will not be cut back into the movie as originally expected. There’s still a chance that Ridley Scott will revisit the cut footage and deliver a proper Director’s Cut for another Blu-ray at some point in the future.
ORIGINAL STORY:
If you were more than a little confused by Prometheus, some of your lingering questions may be answered in an extended cut of the film that’s coming to Blu-ray.
Speaking with Collider, director Ridley Scott revealed that the home video version of his cryptic sci-fi movie will feature more than twenty minutes of new footage. Scott hasn’t elaborated on what new scenes will be included. Hopefully, they will flesh things out and make the film a little less confusing. But then again, the extended cut may just add even more unanswered questions. We’ll get to find out when Prometheus lands on Blu-ray this October.
The disks will also include plenty of behind the scenes content, but if you can’t wait, you can watch our behind the scenes look right now by clicking here.
