It looks like director Steven Soderbergh is dropping out of The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
The director of Contagion was set to helm a big screen remake of the 1960s spy series. Now, The Playlist reports that Soderbergh has left the project following casting disputes between him and the film’s financial backers. Several different stars were rumoured to be attached to the project, including The Ides of March politician George Clooney and The Eagle commander Channing Tatum. Haywire, Soderbergh’s next action-packed film, will smash cinemas in January 2012.
