Variety reports that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is attached to star in an all-new Hercules movie. This one is based on the 2008 graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian War, which depicts a more realistic and less mythological version of the ancient Greek hero. The big screen adaptation will be helmed by Tower Heist director Brett Ratner, and it’s slated to battle cinemas in 2014.
Audiences can currently catch The Rock in the family adventure Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, and he’ll next appear in the low Budget Michael Bay kidnapping movie Pain and Gain.
