Variety reports that Modern Family star Ty Burrell has been cast in Switch. It’s a big screen adaptation of the Elmore Leonard crime novel that serves as a prequel to Rum Punch, the book upon which Jackie Brown is based.
Burrell will appear opposite Mos Def and Martha Marcy May Marlene co-star John Hawkes, who are playing younger versions of the characters played by Samuel L. Jackson and Robert De Niro in Jackie Brown. Shooting will begin this May.
Jackie Brown director Quentin Tarantino is not involved in the new film.
