Deadline reports that anchormen Will Ferrell and Steve Carell are reuniting in a new comedy titled Swear to God, about a self-centred banker who thinks he’s seen God. The project will be written and directed by Justin Theroux, who served as screenwriter on Tropic Thunder and played the villain in Your Highness. Shooting is expected to begin next year, with a release date planned for 2014.
Swear to God is being produced by Adam McKay, who also worked with Will Ferrell and Steve Carell on Anchorman, and they’re also reuniting for the upcoming sequel Anchorman 2. McKay worked with Ferrell on The Campaign, which is out now.
