Zen Studios have announced that Zen Pinball 2 will be released September 4 for the PlayStation 3 and Vita, and September 5 on the Xbox.

All versions will actually be free, or free upgrades to those who own Zen Pinball or Marvel Pinball; you just have to pay for any new tables you buy.

Among the new features in this upgrade are better physics, free demos of new tables, new multiplayer modes including local split-screen, and 3D visuals on compatible TVs.

Zen have also announced that, on the same day, they’ll release a new table that’s “based on one of PopCap Games’ mega hits,” but that the table won’t be revealed until Pax Prime, which is being held in Seattle from August 31 through September 2.
