Fallout 3: Broken Steel

Pros

• Tough new opponents to fight
• Allows play beyond end of the main story
• Increases the level cap to 30
• Sweet new weapons
• New achievements

Cons

• Between this and The Pitt, DLC kinda gets expensive

Bottom Line

Some very welcome additions to Fallout 3 make it a must-have.

"Broken Steel feels much like the ultimate DLC expansion, with some great new perks, achievements, and TOUGH new opponents like the Enclave Hellfire Trooper and Super Mutant Overlord. The Trooper in particular seems to tie me into knots. Fortunately, there are some great new weapons like the bot-killing Metal Blaster and Tesla Cannon to help you out.

The biggest deal of course is the increase in the level cap from 20 to 30. That's very welcome, and it makes your character extremely powerful. A shame it's not retroactive; I gained a lot of experience beyond level 20 when I first played through Fallout 3. And the other piece of good news is that the game now allows you to play the game after you complete the main story. That alone is worth the price of admission to me at least. I do admit though, that between the three expansions (Operation Anchorage, The Pitt and Broken Steel) it's get a little expensive. Still, if you're a Fallout fan with the points to spare, you probably won't regret spending them."
