Bottom Line
A reasonable if uninspired movie tie-in game.

"Taking a wee glance at Metacritic, Ice Age: DOTD, a game designed by Eurocom, is presently listed as having an aggregate rating of 69%. Elsewhere on Metacritic, G-Force, another movie tie-in game designed by Eurocom, also has an aggregate rating of 69%. Conclusion: my fellow game journalists are on crack. G-Force is not a fantastic game, but it's more inspired than Ice Age, a for the most part by-the-numbers movie tie-in. You could substitute the sassy talking animals with celebrity voice overs from virtually any CGI movie from the past 10 years and nobody would know any better.
Okay, calming down now. Ice Age: DOTD isn't really all that bad, it's just that it's exactly the sort of platformer/adventure game that comes out with many of these movies. It's done decently, it's just been done many times before. G-Force at least tried to rise about this sort of thing. I suppose if the young 'un in your family liked the movie they will like the game, but seriously consider this as a rental."
